Jim C. Nedd

Born in Colombia in 1991.

Lives and works in Milan.

Jim C. Nedd is an artist who works predominantly with photography and whose subjects are both figures and landscapes. In his practice, some fundamental elements stand out: geographical locations, popular culture and, consequently, a search for the identity of the place. To date, most of his photographic production has consisted of series of repeated images in low light, large crowds and celebrations of Caribbean culture. Having grown up listening to Vallenato music, a genre that tells stories with poetry and evokes a range of perceptions, oral archives are particularly important to Nedd, as they form the basis for creating images from stories heard and experienced through collective memory.

Nedd’s work has been exhibited by: MACRO (Rome); Gregor Steiger (Milan); MAMBO (Bogotà); Cinemateca Distrital (Bogotà); Autoitalia (London); Damien & The Love Guru, CFA, (Miilan); Biennale of Athens (Athens); Hamburger Bahnhof (Berlin); Biennale di Liverpool (Liverpool) and Sandy Brown (Berlino). His works has also been published on Aperture, Vogue IT, Kaleidoscope and Rivista Studio. Nedd has also worked extensively with fashion brands such as Armani, Bottega Veneta, Gucci and Prada. Since 2019, Nedd has worked for UNICEF filing reportage work in Sicily, Beirut and the Syrian border.
